My name is Kevin Marron.    Originally I am from Ireland, but have lived in a variety of world locations. A self - taught artist, my work includes drawings and illustrations, cartoons and abstract images, photography, acrylic and watercolour paintings and sometimes a mixture of some or all of these.

Inspiration for my  work comes from many sources and often from a highly charged internal imagination. Faces, places and shapes, colours and shadows are found everywhere and a developed eye can see and interpret these impressions representing them as unusual, surreal or enhanced images seen through the eyes of creative imagination.

My work is dominated by perspectives and an ongoing observation of  the world from often oblique and unique perspectives. For me, this process of creation involves taking or imagining an image, reframing it in his minds eye and translating that view into the resulting picture.

The process is often unpredictable, and unless the image is a predetermined one, the end results can often be quite unexpected and revelatory.

My work is a mixture of colour and/or black and white and has been described by different people as solitary, thought provoking, scary and dark;  although very often, people do detect an underlying humorous edge.

A tour of the web galleries on this site will no doubt enable you to form your own opinions. In reality however, it’s probably true to say that much of my influences and experiences are directly or indirectly presented as different types of images moods and reflections, some of which may be less obvious than others.
